Misc Tidbits from the Netbook

Its noon on Saturday, and I'm sitting here in my rocking chair, typing on my new netbook (thanks honey, I love it!!), and waiting for Qwest to come out and check or repair my phone line. I have been without internet now since Friday about 8am. And, speaking as an internet addict, yes! its killing me! Luckily, there's a lousy open connection that works IF I am in the backyard, IF I am facing north/northwest, and IF I don't move or use anything but yahoo messenger. Ugh. (Luckily I don't have to sit with one arm in the air, one leg pointed in any certain direction, etc etc!!)

After I knew when the repairs would happen, and after my netbook arrived (the timing was total synchronicity!), I scooted over to the local library to plug in, hook up, dial in, power up and test the netbook, and to get some real internet time in! What's the first email I see? From Qwest, reminding me that my appointment to have my internet/phone repaired was on Saturday. Anyone else see the irony in that?? *laughs* Sadly, the library closes at 5pm, so I only had a short hour -- not nearly enough for an addict.

Stopping at a Starbuck's between there and home, I bought an Iced Green Tea, sweetened, and sat down to power up. Sadly, the connection that came up was for Qwest customers, but wouldn't connect. Little did I know, they don't provide that service, AT&T does. So. I sat there drinking my tea, and working on the next chapter of my story. Its amazing what you can get done when you're not distracted by the usual "what's for dinner" or the other chores that go along with being at home. Later in the evening, I was connected from my back patio, sitting under a full moon, and enjoying a little chat time with friends. Ahhhh, much better.

As I look out my front window, my neighbor, Charles, is outside with the blower, getting all the leaves and bits from under bushes. We share a front yard, so its really sweet of him to do that, even though the landscapers (who are part of our HOA fees) should be doing a better job. So there Charles is, outside under the canopy of our side by side mesquite trees, which can be quite messy!, and he blows around my car, then ohh! he's blowing the tidbits off the top of my car as well. Ain't he the best neighbor someone can have?

HUGS to everyone, as I'll be posting this (with a bit of luck) later in the day :)
