Feeling Thankful

Saturday.  A day to complete your weekend chores.  When you're a home owner, sometimes there seems to be no end to the chores that need to be done!   It was my turn for that this weekend.

I sprung a leak under the kitchen sink, so I called my son.  Today was his day off, so I told him I'd cook a meal for the family if I could "borrow" him for a few hours.  Picked him up mid morning, and it didn't take him long to fix the leak.  Thank goodness it was minor!  But then he decided it would be a good day to tackle painting the patio cover.  Personally, I think he just wanted to play with the new paint sprayer!  For most men, it's all about the toys, right???  lol

So yeah, we got that tackled as well.  To be honest, I might have taken two Saturdays to paint it by hand, the first for the brush work, the second to roll the paint on.  But he had the actual spraying done in an hour.  Thank goodness for all the prep work spreading plastics all over!  Because that stuff has a wicked overspray!

In the meantime, I cooked up a batch of stew, sent home 12 cups of stew and left 2 cups for my own dinner.  When I cook .....  lol   It's difficult to break old habits.  I cooked for a family of 8 of us for many years --- I still can't reduce the ingredients in stew, spaghetti and soups.   But that's ok, I eat well when I cook!

I'm so thankful for my son who's willing to spare a bit of his free time to help his mom out!!  Of course, tomorrow means I'll be putting everything back that I moved when we started on this day's projects.  Plus getting groceries, doing laundry, and maybe washing the car if the rain lets up.
