Co-Workers and Dreams

We all have them -- co-workers who are a pleasure to be around, and those who are the opposite.  It's unavoidable in our work environment in most cases, and even the not so desirable ones can be tolerated without much difficulty.

But with space a premium, when you share an office, a cubicle, some sort of working space with a co-worker, there can be issues!  I'm currently in the middle of one, and who knows how it will work out in the end.

My co-worker is male, his age is .... hard to determine, but I'm guessing early 50s.  I know he drinks while watching sports - to hear him talk, I assume he watches 4-6 or more hours an evening - more on the weekends!  A few weeks back, he started coming to work with that body odor associated with someone who drinks more than he should.  That was tough to take.  And maybe someone mentioned it to him -- because now his best friend is Axe spray on deodorant.  And shew!  I'm not sure what is worse!   There are other colognes out there that smell much better than Axe!  Maybe he got it for a gift.  Or maybe he's dating someone, or starting to date?   Either way, OMG, it makes me gag.

I'm not a perfume-y kind of gal; it's rare that I'll dab on a lil bit.  I do hit the gym a couple days a week for lunch, have a sponge bath afterward, and refresh the deodorant.  Because I take a late lunch, I make sure that I avoid being confined in our small work space after a workout so that if I'm a little smelly, it's not an issue.  I know, I know, no one has complained but would they??  A person's body is a touchy subject - and perhaps more so in the work place.

I don't complain or mention it, I just try to do work things in other places.  But I can only do that for so long ... there comes a point where I need to be in my work space to finish things out.  When it gets too much for me, I dab a bit of Vicks underneath my nose ..... it helps for the time being.

I've noticed, however, that whatever creates the fragrance of this particular Axe scent must be oil based or something, because I come home and I still smell it -- and I don't get close enough to touch this guy!  Or maybe it still hangs in my nose, the oils causing it to stick to things.  I wonder if women's perfumes do that too?   I can't ever recall a man mentioning bad perfume to me....  We'll have to see how this situation plays out.

By the way, I had a delicious dream.  I was out somewhere and was approached by a man.  Good looking, we talked, found we had things in common, and started dating.  We went to quiet places to eat, art galleries to meander through, and walks out in nature.  After a couple weeks of dating, we were at the mall, having a bite to eat in the Food Court, when he was mobbed by girls of all ages.  We'd been so busy talking about real stuff that I hadn't realized that he was a famous singer!  He was nice and polite to the crowds, but let them down easy as we moved along and on our way.

That's when I woke up.  I was smiling, of course!  But then wondered -- premonition?  Am I destined to meet a man to date?????   Or was it just a symptom of a conversation where some talking head on the TV in the break room at work was going over a list of celebrities and who they were currently dating and realizing that I didn't know a single name of those "famous folk" ?????

hahaha dreams sure can be amusing some days!!
