Just a few short words on a beautiful Friday here in the Valley of the Sun .... it is days like this that make all of us grateful for living here.  It's sunny and 50 degrees, and promises to be 75 or so in the afternoon sunshine... who could ask for anything better??    *smiles*

A rare Friday off for no reason, but because I felt like it.  I had a dental appointment yesterday afternoon and while nothing major is wrong, I'm scheduling some minor work for next month to keep up with things.  I couldn't help imagining how my face looked in its crazy grimace as I sat there in his chair, mouth wide open, water spraying everywhere as he used his little cavitron to clean between my teeth, and was thankful no one was there for a selfie shot to post on Instagram!   haha

In her usual fashion, Sadie got me out of bed at 5am for a potty break, but lucky me, she decided to crawl back in for more snooze time.  While I didn't go back to sleep, I was resting with my eyes halfway open while Blue Bloods played on Netflix.   Which, by the way, I'm so happy to have access to this terrific show.  I enjoy watching it, but it's on way too late for me to catch it, I tend to fall asleep as the opening credits are played.  And having no commercials on Netflix during the episodes works well for me!

Thanksgiving plans with my daughter and family fell through because I work retail.  My BigBox store has decided that my schedule for Thanksgiving day is Noon to 9pm, and then back in the store at 5:30am the next morning.  Certainly doesn't leave much time for enjoying a turkey dinner, let alone being the cook for the meal as well!  I'm sad and bummed, of course, but this is my 15th Holiday Season working retail, and I've learned to accept it.  I'll be making a big pot of my beef stew to have for anyone who drops in or needs a meal.  Guess a turkey will have to wait for a different weekend :)

My 24 Hour Fitness has decided to pull out from Arizona locations, and LA Fitness is taking over.  I'm wondering and worried about the gym I'm using, I've stayed with them because the location is perfect for me!  I can dash over in a 2 minute walk to get in some time during my lunch, then finish my workout after I'm done working - just love the convenience.  However, since there is another LA Fitness just 2 miles up the road, will they close this location?? I certainly hope not.  But I can't help but feel sorry for the trainers - a month before Christmas and out of a job.  That really sux!  It's sad that big corps just think about $$ and not about the logistics of their loyal employees.  Why not wait til say, January? and give everyone some notice, etc.  But that's not how the corporate world works. In the meantime, I'm checking out other options, but lets face it:  the reason I stayed with my gym is because once I get in the car after a long day at work, I don't head anywhere else but home.

Make it a great day ... because you can!
