I am taking this with mixed feelings: I'm happy he's home, and I'm happy that I can provide for him in his time of need. Otherwise, I really, REALLY, liked being alone, doing my own thing whenever and whatever the mood -- it was OK because I didn't answer to anyone.
I have to say, I was very pleased using GoShare! The estimate was $60-75, and came in at $69. The driver, Ardy, was on time, helped Brian load his things. He took pride in what he was doing -- you could tell because he drove an immaculate white Mercedes Benz cargo van with every kind of dolly or furniture moving device stored inside. He stowed Brian's guitars up front with him so they didn't get damaged. If you ever need something hauled, calling GoShare is much easier than renting yourself a U-Haul pickup! Brian's appointment was 2pm, we were back at my house (15 minute drive) and unloaded by 3:10pm. Best invention EVER!
Now it will be adjustment time: I work 7-4, he works 9p-6am. I'm sure there will be struggles for the first few weeks as we re-adjust our schedules to make this work. And the foods we eat -- well, when I cook for one, I do things a little bit different! I might boil up enough chicken for the week, then do different dishes: chicken and rice, chicken salad, chicken nachos -- you get the idea. Today, we had broccoli and burgers. Just between you and me, I'm not sure he was eating all that healthy -- but when you're struggling, you don't always eat what's good for you.
Because he worked last night and has been up ever since -- nearly 24 hours now -- he's crawled himself into bed. Bet he sleeps most of the night! I'm hoping I do too. hehehe
