You're the Pilot

Image result for time flies blink eyeTime slips by in the blink of an eye when things are really busy.  We're in the throws, coming down to the wire, prepping my BigBox Store for inventory.  There are a lot of changes, because of the whole digital thing, and we're using a lot of Apps lately, rather than a hardwired computer system.  Change can be exciting, but it can also be stressful when it's the first time using it.  Some say "Do it this way..." and others say "Do it that way ... "  and you're caught in the middle, hoping the way you choose is the correct way.  Funny how a management team never seems to be on the same page, no matter the work place!

Many other changes taking place, I'm losing my direct manager, and the girl I've trained up.  I'm happy for both of them, they are making choices that will take them further in their careers.  But I'm sad for me.  Along with people changes, there are other changes in the future, and my position isn't as secure as I assumed it would be.  Of course, there is always change in the retail sector.  Most of them I can grumble about but still get on board and do what needs doing, but this one will create the most changes ever in the 10 years I've had my position.  When that finally hits, I will be doing a major countdown to the day I can finally retire!

2,838 days left!!

These days, when I think about work and feel somewhat defeated, I conjure up one of my favorite Frank Reagan quotes:
Do good work.
Come back in one piece.
Thank you for your service.

Our weather is heating up, much earlier this year than before, and I'm not sure if that means a hot short summer, or an even longer version of ... hell.... but that's living in Arizona.  No snow, mostly sunny days, and very little rain or humidity is my preference these days.

My whole lifestyle changes went out the window with the stress of the last two weeks.  Needless to day, I'm right back where I started from.  I'm hoping, however, that getting back to my normal routine will cause the stress induced water retention to abate and I can keep on going .... it's not easy with the hot weather.  Today I walked for 25 minutes, Sadie in the stroller, because it was 90 degrees.  I couldn't finish out the last 20 minutes of the walk, had to cut it short, because I was a little overheated and didn't want to find myself passed out on the sidewalk!  Us ol' ladies gotta watch for that!
