Spoiling Me

It's such a lovely day today!  I'm not an extravagant person.  I'm happy with simple things, little things; one of the things I do enjoy, however, is getting my hair done.  My hairdresser, Erin, knows how to make my hair be totally beautiful with color, a wash and blow dry.  Being pampered in this small way is a very nice treat.

I shopped afterwards - seemed a shame to just head home with such gorgeous hair! - and looked for pants and tops for work, along with new workout shoes.  I didn't find anything that suited me, however.  But that's ok -- sometimes NOT spending money is a good thing too :)

Stopping at Walmart on the spur of the moment, I picked up 10 bricks for the side yard, and a new purple Lanata plant, along with a new cactus called "Joseph's Coat" and a Phoenix Heat Tolerant tomato.  Yes, we've had way too much frost this spring, so the tomato I had already planted froze on me.  I also planted some balloon cactus, a "Silver Arrow" and "Angel Wings".  I had a busy afternoon playing in the warm outdoors today - it felt terrific!!   (That's a picture of an Angel Wings cactus)

Grocery shopping is done and out of the way for the week as well.  I guess if I'm going to be running errands, doing them all on the same day is the way to go!  Now just to get ahead of the laundry..... and I can relax on Sunday!

Heaven Over Earth

I Ching Hexagram 12 - P'i
I tossed the i Ching coins today, and I think this symbol has the greatest name:  Heaven over Earth

No 12:  Heaven over Earth

General: Although this is a time of adversity you should remember that all things change and there is always hope.
Love: A lover or potential lover may not be what they seem. Beware of falling in love.
Business: New business ventures may be too good to be true. Examine them carefully.
Personal: Strengthen your moral and ethical senses. Don't be led astray.

Overview: P'i relates to a time of stagnation and to the fragility of life. If the foundations are weak or unstable then a building will eventually fall. This analogy should also be applied to people. P'i often indicates a time when arrogant individuals come to power or occupy positions of authority. Their arrogance will eventually be their downfall. Beware of individuals trying to subvert your sense of ethics or the consequences will be far-reaching for you.

gosh, sometimes I never know what to think when I toss the coins to see what comes of them.  It talks about time of adversity, and I suppose I could apply that to a couple of different situations.  If I get specific and relate it to something, I might have to worry about the part that says "all things change and there is always hope."  Because having hopes can be very hurtful when they don't happen.  When you couple that with the second line about love -- it looks like I need to be very aware of what I'm doing, but more important, to pay attention to how I'm feeling.  I need to focus on that part, and not "be led astray".

But as I posted yesterday, I just need to remember "I am enough".
I don't "need" the way other people need.
I can be quite content with my life and how I'm living it.
I often joke, having been married 3 times, that I've used up my allotment of men, and don't need any others in my life!

Because .... I am enough
