Stripes

One of the nicest things about owning your own home is the freedom to do what you want.  When I moved in, the backyard has block fencing.  Two of them are a tan/ocher type color, and one is grey.

I researched ways to do something with the one grey wall, and something inspired me to paint stripes.  Totally cheerful!

And in doing things to a home, I have always believed that a person leaves an imprint if you will of themselves on whatever they work on. If they help you paint, a part of their love is painted into your home. Maybe that thought is a little out there for some, but I believe it.

My aunt and uncle helped paint my home inside when I bought it. They showed up, brought tools and a crock pot full of chili with them, and we all got started. It was a good day of sharing work and love.

I kept going with the theme of infusing love when they helped paint stripes on my fence. Every time I look at those stripes, I remember their help and their love.

My Aunt Margie was always game to do things of a different sort if I suggest it. And my daughter knows her mom well enough to just say OK as well.   My striped fence was a brilliant idea!
