Believe in Myself!

I watched the movie "Broken Bridges" tonight.  Simple small town story starring Toby Keith.  He plays a man who ran out from his girlfriend who was pregnant.  16 years later, they all end up back in the same small town for a funeral.  He gets to know his daughter, who is a singer/songwriter like the father she never knew.

The title song, however, has a great message.

Wake up to a sunny day, not a cloud in the sky,
then it starts to rain.

My defenses hit the ground, shatter all around,
so broken and exposed.

Little girl don't be so blue, I know what you're going through
Don't let it beat you up

Hittin' walls and gettin' scars
Only makes you who you are

When you're broken in a Million little pieces
And your tryin'  but you can't hold on any more

Every tear falls down for a reason
Don't you stop believin' in your self
When you're broken

Love the message.  The first verse reminds me of nearly every Monday, expecting good things and something goes wrong.  But there is always a bright side.  Having troubles, going through problems, these are the things that make us stronger as we get through them.  With any luck, we learn from our problems and can take those lessons into the next days with us.

Lately I've felt like life is giving me a triple dose of issues and problems to deal with.  But I am not one to shrink and hide - at least for very long, although I do have my moments! - so I've decided that I'm not waiting for life to get better.  I am going to make life better by doing things!   Yes, I may have moments of feeling "broken", but I am stronger every day, and I will not stop believing in myself!
