NY: Day 1

Today felt like the first day of the new year.  While it was technically the 2nd, a holiday doesn't count as a "real day", does it??

I started working on my resolution, day 1 at the gym, where I went 2 miles in 33 mins on the treadmill, then proceeded to the weight machines for some "arms" work.  Of course, coming home meant I also had to walk Sadie around a few blocks.  (Was hoping to tire her out so she'll sleep -- and let ME sleep tonight too!)  While my calorie intake was higher than I need it to be when I'm doing gym work, I'm not going to stress about it -- afterall, it was the first day.  If you're trying to do the weight loss thing, I can recommend SparkPeople.com - its easy, and free.  You track your goal, your food and water intake, and your exercise all in one place, by the day.

Because I took time after work at the gym, and then with Sadie, there was less computer face time, for sure!  I also scuttled about the bedroom hanging up miscellaneous pieces of clothing, etc, and de-cluttered my sleeping space -- any little trick for a good night's sleep is worth the effort!

It's finally after 7pm now, and I'm done for the evening. Whew!  And all the little things I was going to blog about zipped on out of my head -- I think things fall out when I'm planking - errr, when I'm doing a plank? ok... when I exercise. hahaha

New Year

2013:  It's a brand new day, and a brand new year.
What will the year hold?
What challenges and opportunities will come your way?
Are you ready for change?

Resolution:  This year, I resolve to hit the gym 4 times a week.  My goal?  To lose another 30 lbs.

Resolution:  More time spent doing things I like and things I should; less time spent on the computer.

We all know that New Year's Resolutions mostly go out the window.
Maybe the best bet is to resolve not to make these silly resolutions!   :)

Winter has settled into the Valley of the Sun for the time being.  Today was a first for me:  Our frost was so heavy last night, I actually had to use my ice scraper on my windows!!  Good thing I didn't toss that once I moved from Ohio to here.  After nearly five years of toting it around in my car(s) ... I actually had an occasion to use it!  Go figure :)

Stuff never stops in a BigBox retail store -- and my store is no exception.  It was a "running to and fro" kind of day trying to get it all done.  No wonder I'm tired at the end of a long day!

Now listening to:  The Band Perry - Better Dig Two  ....  "Let the stone say: 'Here lies the girl who's only crutch is loving one man just a little too much.' "  Love the old fashioned sounding banjo in this one, very catchy tune.

I had planned on spending New Year's Eve going to bed early, catching up on rest and watching a little bit of Antiques Roadshow on PBS.  But I ended up wasting time; and with all the neighborhood fireworks that started around 10pm, Sadie was up and barking every half hour til about 1am -- When is it my turn to sleep???  hahaha
