On Father's Day

My Dad died in 2014 of cancer.  When he was diagnosed a year before, I pondered and wondered what I could do for him.  In reality, no matter how much I wanted to, nothing I could do would change the facts.

But then I realized that I could at least lift his spirits, give him something to look forward to.  Each week, I wrote a short note about a memory I had with Dad, sent them snail mail.  Vacations he took us on.  Little helps with household projects.  His firm but easy ways with discipline.  Even Mom says to this day I was always a daddy's girl!

Mom keeps those memories in a binder.

In honor of Dad on Father's Day, I love you and miss you.
