Wishful Goals ?

Week after week, I keep telling myself "it's time to get back on track", and each week goes by with no progress made.  Then I caught a cold, our temps dropped, and another five pounds seemed to jump onto my hips and ass!

Image result for fitnessOn Wednesday, I dropped into the gym to make some time on the treadmill.  30 minutes @ 3.0 incline = 1.4 miles.  While that's not my best effort, and I vowed to do better, but I didn't seem to be able to force myself to head to the gym on Thurs or Friday.

One of the issues is they have a new locker room cleaning schedule; there's a male cleaning staff and the hours are 9-Noon.  Makes it impossible to be comfortable changing into gym clothes, and I can't exercise in jeans!

This week, I get blood drawn for the usual check up, so my commitment needs to be on increasing my water intake, making sure I get 30 minutes of walking, either at the gym, or pushing Sadie in her stroller, and watching what I eat, including keeping my sodium down.

Back in 2013, I worked very hard and lost 40 pounds -- and over the course of time, it's all come back.  Mostly because I stopped going to the gym.

There are folks who start with "counting calories", but for me, I don't think all calories are the same.  If they were, the keto diet wouldn't be so successful.  So with the info I've gathered, I think I have two issues (not including my age):  insulin resistance and a hormonal imbalance.  I've tried the Plexus TriPlex but my system doesn't handle all of it in such large doses.  This is the week where I'm going to try to increase some of.  I have been able to get up to taking two ProBio5 each evening; now it's deciding if I can handle the BioCleanse or the Pink Drink.  We'll have to see how Monday goes!

I'm recording all of this here to use it as my accountability.
And when I'm successful, maybe it will be an inspiration to someone else!!

I Am Enough

Today I am enough
I am smart enough
Wise enough
Clever enough
Resourceful enough
Able enough
Confident enough

I have enough, I do enough,
I am enough!

I love this quote, this photo.  It's so simple, and yet speaks volumes!   How often do we let ourselves believe the negative things, and forget that there are positives that outweigh them?

Remember in Pretty Woman, the bedroom scene where they're talking softly to each other:

Vivian:  People put you down enough, you start to believe it.
Edward Lewis:  I think you are a very bright, very special woman.
Vivian:  The bad stuff is easier to believe. You ever notice that?

It's true...  its much easier for us to believe the bad stuff.  Is it because if we believe the good stuff, we have to live up to that expectation -- and that can be hard work??   Possibly.

So the challenge this week is to keep a positive attitude, and remember that I am enough.
I plan on writing this down and carrying it with me.

I am enough.

Keep Dreaming.....

"It’s not about how to achieve your dreams, it’s all about leading your life. If you lead your life in a right way, karma will take care of itself. And dreams will come to you." says Randy Pausch. That being said, one of the dreams I have always had is "my own house with a white picket fence". And maybe that was more symbolic than literal.... the house doesn't HAVE to have a white picket fence... or does it?

Symbolism is the use of symbols to represent things such as ideas and emotions .... when we see a heart, we think 'love' (or is that just me? lol) And while I may not have called it symbolism, I'm very big on attaching meaning to things, and things to meanings. I do the same with music, too. Most of the time, I call it being sentimental. But I know now that some of it is more than sentiment, it is symbolic. Anyways, that's just how I am. I realize it more lately ... sometimes on my own, and sometimes with the help of someone else.....

My MrBig, in all his wisdom, knows that we should never give up our dreams. And he conveyed this to me in a unique way, and sent me a package recently. (Thank You, again!) And I have to admit, when I saw the size and shape of this package, I was totally confuzzled! What on earth could be in such a box? It was over four feet tall, maybe a foot wide, and three or four inches thick. With a bit of trepidation, and a lot of anticipation, I cut through the tape and opened it up; nestled there in the shipping popcorn was a board. A board? Strange.... !!! So I picked up and read the note that explained it all..... It is a picket .... a symbol of my dream!!!

"Hold fast to dreams for if dreams die,
life is a broken winged bird that cannot fly"
~ Langston Hughes

I have a perfect spot
for this picket,
this symbol of my dream,
that I will never give up!

Dreams take all shapes and forms;
they change with time,
experiences and maturity.

Today I hung this picket
in a place where I will see it
every day
and it will be a reminder to
never give up hope, and to
Keep Dreaming!

Hopeful HUGS to everyone!!
