O I T N B

Yes.  I have become hooked!  Orange is the New Black - a series on Netflix that I am currently binge watching.  Ok, I've only watched 4 episodes, and I plan on breaking it up, watching only one per day.  After I watch just one more.  Or maybe two.   lol

How crazy is it that one can become so involved in a crazy story?  This is the story of Piper Chapman, a 30something woman who is sentenced to fifteen months in prison after being convicted of a decade-old crime of transporting money to her drug-dealing girlfriend.

The first season's episode one was a little hard to follow.  Piper is turning herself in and reporting to jail.  The story is told in mini flashbacks that took a little understanding to follow, but I've got the hang of it now, and can't wait to see what happens next!

Each woman's story line is different and diverse.  And in a way, it's like watching a soap opera:  you have to keep watching to get to know the in's and out's of all the different characters and their story lines.  But sans commercials on Netflix and it's very easy to binge watch!

Look out Season One, Episode Five, here I come, popcorn at the ready!

Little Observations and TidBits

Life is a funny thing - especially if you notice the little things.

My son and I grocery shop together, as I am his ride.  I've noticed that in many ways, he's like his mamma:  he can eat the same thing every day for a long stretch before he switches to something else.  hahaha

Music can take you back to another time:  Today, someone mentioned "Unforgettable" by Natalie Cole.  I just love her version with Nat King Cole.

Started this post on Sunday, but I'll continue now that it's Monday.

Have you ever found it awkward to work with a co-worker?  There's probably something wrong with me, meaning that I don't "play well with others".   I had a long talk with myself about this.  I have a great deal of patience when teaching someone something new.  I've always had the philosophy to "learn something new every day"  and "teach something new daily" as well.  And I like to see the light in someone's eyes when they finally *get it* .  :)  But after 3+ years of working with the same person, there isn't any light at the end of their tunnel.  It's just a job and remembering details isn't in their DNA.  Which means I'm constantly correcting and reteaching the same things.  Maybe that's why parents get so frustrated with some kids and not with others?  It's not that we dislike teaching, its when we have to teach the same thing(s) over and over, still over again that we lose our patience and start becoming snappish.

I'm finding that the best thing for me to do is to find something else that needs doing because watching my co-worker do his job is too frustrating.  Or maybe because I feel like I've failed to teach properly because he still doesn't get it.  I suppose that's possible as well.

I'm back to a point where I'm feeling like I need to find some real balance in things that go on around me.  I'm not much a people person, but having a really good friend or two wouldn't be all bad either.

It's a no caffeine day for me and I'm feeling the effects with a headache.
