Sitting on the Patio

Here I am
sitting on the patio.
Just past twilight,
the sun has been gone for a while,

listening to crickets chirp,
the occasional siren off in the distance.

The moon has yet to rise;
it is those few moments
in between one source of light
and the next.

I like to think of this as
the magical hour,
that moment in time
when anything can happen.

Of course, I feel that way about
the moments just before the sun
peeks his face over the horizon
and brings us a new day.

It's like a pregnant pause
between one and the other
phases of our day.

Not much good for
taking pictures
but perfect for a walk,
or sitting on the patio.

Consistency

In my email today, I got a surprise from 24 Hour Fitness -- because I trained more than six times in March, I earned a free half hour session!  How exciting :)  Also, on my SparkPeople page, I earned a Consistency Award for March as well.  It means that I'm doing what I need to do .... and I feel good doing it!

“It's not what we do once in a while that shapes our lives.
It's what we do consistently.”
-Anthony Robbins

Got my two miles in today, then some strength training to work out the kinks from yesterday's training session.  Then walked Sadie in the park for half an hour or so.   As usual, I splurge with a Taco Bell Steak Salad (but don't eat the shell).  And picked up some books at the library.

My  garbage disposal did something crazy yesterday - and I'm not sure if its still working, or if I have a problem with pipes under the sink; found some water down there, so I'm putting that on my priority list for the weekend (can't have leaky pipes!)

And tomorrow is Friday -- woo hoo's for a great weekend!
