My Dougie

I put off making this post,
although I'm not sure why.
Maybe I was waiting
for divine inspiration
or a visitor to my dreams
to make it happen.

Neither of those things
happened this week.
But I cannot let this
time of year
pass by without a word
about my fav stepson
who left this Earth
way before his time.

He never failed to bring
a smile to my face,
or to those around him.
