No Hoarding!

This morning, I got up early and got really motivated:
I started cleaning my closet out like a fiend on a mission.
and end up taking 4 huge trash bags to Goodwill!

Ok... how come women end up owning so many clothes? I think there are 30 pairs of pants in those bags, countless shirts, two really nice dresses --- Who needs that much??  (I have to confess, my closet still has more in there!)

In my SparkPeople pages today, the topic was about hoarding your 'skinny' clothes - you know, those ones that you always think "someday, I will fit into these again".   Well, chubby chicks do it in reverse as well.  We become afraid that we'll go back to being heavier, gain some of our weight back, and will need those 'fat' clothes some day.  And I'm no different.  Cuz I've done it in the past.

But, I'm making a commitment to myself:  that "some day" isn't in my future!  I don't want to be that gal again!!  Could it happen?? Well sure, but who knows, if its years from now, maybe styles will be very different, everyone wearing some unitard thing like they did on Star Trek.  (I'm chuckling, because back in grade school, we all thought by the year 2000 we could be living that way! c'mon, you thought it too, didn't you???)

Here are some really good main points:

No one should allow the size of his or her clothes to determine their self-worth.

Only after you let go of the past can you learn to accept yourself in the present with self-confidence and a sense of empowerment.

By focusing on the positive and looking forward, you build greater confidence, which can increase your chances of success.

Today, I encourage you to open your closets and drawers. Gather everything that doesn’t fit you TODAY, especially clothes that are too small, and free yourself from the past and the silent criticism.

When I finally let go of my old clothes,
I realized that I was not the clothes
and the clothes were not me.
