Well Done, Dad.

Sometimes, life is hard.
Sometimes, it is caused by our choices. And,
sometimes, it is caused by things out of our control.

But no matter what, it is a part of life that we have to struggle through.

We've all heard it said that what doesn't break us only makes us stronger.
We've all heard that God won't give you more than you can handle.

What gives us our strength, what builds our character, has more to do with how we handle adversity rather than how much adversity is dished out to us.  We all have moments where it seems so overwhelming that we are certain that we can't handle things.  But somehow, it comes together, bit by bit, or piece by piece, and we can overcome.

An old spiritual, we used to sing "We shall overcome, we shall overcome some day."  It can be really difficult to get through our hard times, and I am no exception.  There have been difficulties in my own life; I have been through so many obstacles, but coming out the other side has always been better.  Always.

If you're having issues, troubles, or find that its hard to handle the curves life has been throwing at you, don't give up.  It WILL get better.

In my own current difficulties, its so hard watching my Dad, who has always been the backbone of the family, become weaker, and lose his faculties.  Life sucks in that way.  But at the same time, I have to celebrate his entire life, and not remember these difficult times as my only memories.  Some day soon, the Lord will call him home, and tell him "Well done, good and faithful servant."

Well done, Dad.
I have a lifetime of memories and moments with you.
Well done.
