Some days, do you ever wonder why you do what you do? Of course, some of what we do are basic necessities to get along in life. Other things we do because we enjoy them, or they're our hobbies.

Take this blog, for example. I started it because a woman over 50 sometimes has wisdom and insight to share with the world. And because sometimes it felt good to share things. But in a me-me-me world, so many people are so busy with putting things "out there" on FB, or blogging, or some other way, that no one takes the time to read, to listen. Eventually my reasons for writing this have dwindled to two: to keep practicing the art of writing, and to let someone who was important in my life know that I'm doing ok.
Sadly, with the stats that come in from this platform, the hits I get are now just random from other countries who must get paid based on the number of websites they hit in an hour? I don't need to keep up my writing for them. And I'm betting they don't even read it, they just hit and run. I don't think the "important someone" reads it either - so why bother? It's funny how you can believe with your heart and mind that someone could be so important to you; but its only a good thing if its reciprocated.
So if I'm silent for a while, its because I am focusing my efforts elsewhere.
