Steppin'

  61,308 steps last week!

I am kickin' butt and takin' names!

Actually, I'm just doing a lot of walking, 40 minutes at the gym, the steps really add up!  But that's ok, I felt awesome after the week was over -- and after I rested all day Saturday. hahahaha

Plan on doing the same thing this week, and I'm working toward some weight loss goals.

Exercise feels good -- did you get yours today??

Walk Fit

Image result for step tracker spark

13,224 steps!!!

That's a new record for me.... this is a picture of a SparkPeople tracker.  When all the circles light up, you've reached your goal for the day.  Mine is set at 10k steps.  This week, I've bypassed that goal every day, and it feels so good!

The average person's stride length is approximately 2.5 feet long. That means it takes just over 2,000 steps to walk one mile, and 10,000 steps is close to 5 miles.

Reaching the 10k step mark every day is a lofty goal if you're not used to being active.  But by starting out, then increasing your goal every week, you can do it too!

Gym-tastic!

Tuesday - and it's Day 2 at the gym.
Setting little goals works the best for me.

  1. Go to the gym every day this week for 1 mile Elliptical

That's it, the whole goal.

And if I do it right, I can get that mile done in about 15 minutes.

Monday's trek was for 20 minutes.
Today when I reached the 15 minute mile, I told myself I would just 'cool down' for 5 minutes, take it easy but still get some cardio.  Then a good song came on my player.. and I was off and going again!  I ended up with 22 minutes, and am happy with myself for doing it!

Step tracker Monday = 9,500 steps
Step tracker Tuesday = 10,500 steps

My "Daily Challenge" text from work said to write a sentence and replace the word "should".

So I changed "I should go to the gym" to  "I will go to the gym!"

And I did!

How Gym-tastic is that???

Motivation

Sometimes its difficult to find the motivation we need to do the things we know we should, the things we want to accomplish.  And in this month of things for ME, I used a gift card and bought the SparkPeople Activity Tracker.  It's just a little thing (about 1x1") that clips onto your person, I wear mine on my shoe, and it records your steps, counts mileage and even calculates calories.

This morning, I downloaded the simple app, installed it on my computer then took the dog for a walk.  We scooted around our neighborhood like we usually do, and when I got back home, I tapped my tracker and it uploaded my data into my computer... I tracked 2624 steps, 1.1 miles, 25 minutes and 156 calories burned.  Wow.  What technology can't do these days!

This is a terrific motivator - I'm looking forward to seeing just how much I truly do when I'm at work :)

Doing my ME things for this month wasn't going to involve spending money, this.... is totally worth it!
