Why does every book with romance in it involve a woman, usually blonde, who is striking if not beautiful, with long, slim limbs and looks great in a bikini???
What or who created a world so obsessed with outward appearance?
In the 17th century, Rubens painted women and they became known as rubenesque. Back then being skinny meant poverty.
When did things switch??
In the 1920s, women in photos and movies were portrayed as flappers, wearing those dropped waist dresses. They were all thin and flat chested. Did men prefer that?? How does that preference get changed? Does it start with one man choosing to design something and other men deciding they want what some other guy has??
And do women start choosing it to please a man??????
We are judged by outward appearances. We can't escape that, we are trained to do this.
But its the same with the ways a colorful world has changed. All the cars are black, blue, white, or some shade of those.
Who decided this??? And why are we accepting this???
I've had a couple of rough days and I seem to have little patience.
