Bliss - what a wonderful word! And even if we know what it is, its very hard to define. We sometimes think that happiness and bliss are the same because both induce smiles and laughter. But happiness is usually caused by external circumstances, or people. Bliss doesn't involve other people, places or things. Its more of an intense awareness of the sensuous in the ordinary or everyday things around us. It involves the intermingling of senses.
“Remember that sometimes not getting what you want
is a wonderful stroke of luck.”
~Dalai Lama

There are some who say "Follow your bliss" .. but do you know what yours is? That can be a misleading statement for those of us who aren't sure just what our bliss actually is. It seems to me that in order to Follow Your Bliss, you need to first find it. How do you do that? You need to be open and curious when it comes to new opportunities. How many of us say "no thanks" to something, before we even give it a chance? Be willing to give it a fair chance - five minutes isn't enough to try something to see if you like it or not. Allow yourself to be surprised to like something you never thought you would. And trust life.
Bliss is most often private, peculiar and deeply personal.
It involves the senses, doesn't require anyone else's presence,
and doesn't cost any money.
Just your willingness to experiment, experience and indulge.
