Life is too Short

Today's post is sad.  We were told at my BigBox store that one of my co-workers was in the hospital.  Someone spotted him slumped over the wheel of his car in the parking lot, he was on his way to work.  (In hindsight ... so glad he was already parked!) They rushed him over to the ER and he's been in intensive care.  His prognosis isn't good.  He had an aneurysm burst; at this point, surgery is only a 20% survival rate at best guess.  Not sure what the future will hold, so its a wait and see kind of thing.  His family arrived - some from Oregon, some from Mexico.

Conrado is the kind of guy who always has a smile on his face; he always makes sure to say hello, even to ask how you're doing.  He's the type who - when he sees a woman doing something he would consider "man's work" - jumps right in and does the heavy part, so she doesn't have to.  He was always agreeable at work for anything they asked of him.  No job was too hard, too tough, or too menial for him to do.  He'd just smile and keep doing whatever needed to be done.

Which is a big reminder for us all that none of us are here forever.  It could be over in the blink of an eye.  All of us have regrets for things we've done, and things we should have done.  As long as we're still here on Earth, we should make every attempt to correct those regrets, fix past mistakes and/or relationships, and to live each day to the fullest.  Life is too short to wait!

Thoughts and prayers going out to Conrado and his family during this time.
*hugs*
