At times, the words we choose to say what we feel can be very telling. I may have mentioned this before, and now I've let it get to me again. The word "someday" when first uttered holds a lot of hope and promise, of looking ahead. But what happens when that word shifts from the positive hopefuls to a dreaded 'never gonna happen' word? "Ifs" and "somedays" lose their meanings, sound empty, if the person who's saying them can't live up to fulfilling those someday dreams.
The song "Turn the Page" by Bob Seger has been stuck on my mind as I've pondered this post. We've all had points in our life where we ponder where we are, what went wrong, and when is it time to start something new - effectively to "turn the page". How do you get to those moments? Or maybe the question is How do you get past those moments to effectively .... turn that page?
When you search the 'net for ideas on how to get past moments.... one of the repeated themes over and over are this:
"Spend time with people that make you feel good and make you feel positive. You may find that old friends are bringing you down. Change the patterns and surround yourself with people who make you feel better or encourage your self improvement. Sometimes the best way to start over is to cut out the negatives."
