Just One Minute

Wow.  I am fascinated with something I found.  How many of us go through life and think that nothing happens to us?  I'm recalling this because my BFF of more than 40 years (sorry dear, yes, you are older than 40 now!!) and I talk on the phone, and some days it seems like there's "nothing new" in our lives.  But in reality, if we pause long enough to find something, really see something that's going on around us, chances are we'll see something unique, amazing, or just plain beautiful.   I've tried in the past to do that with a "picture a day" category in my photography.  It's not always easy because life gets very busy on us, and frankly, when it does, we just don't stop and take the time to see what's going on outside of our own little reality.

On Lloyd Kahn's blog, he shared a video clip by Kevin Kelly - a second a day on a two month trip to Asia.  Granted, he was on vacation and had more time to get something visual, not being bogged down by real life jobs, commutes -- well, you get the idea.  But think how much more enriched our lives would be if we actually took a moment every day to see - and acknowledge - something that catches our eye!!

Just one minute is all it takes -- I challenge you to enrich your own life and take a good look around every day!
