Sometimes, you see something that looks like it was right out of the movies! Let me explain. My BigBox store is going through a remodel period.... painting, sprucing up, fixing floors, replacing faulty equipment.... you get the idea. As a result, the area in front of the span of registers is wide open, nothing bogging it down, its like looking down a football field.
On Friday, our store had a visit from the Western Division Veep -- the highest level of suit that still works in the field, so in our BigBox world, he's a big-wig. Needless to say, all week long there was lots of prepping to get ready, and of course, this being mixed in with remodel going on. Stress, stress, stress, stress and stress!!
I had occasion to be on the floor for a moment, standing at one end of the store, looking down that long football expanse and happened to see The Suit striding toward me, along with all the other suits he'd brought as well. Reminded me of the scene from a movie -- was it The Right Stuff? -- where the men are shown in slow motion, walking down a wide corridor. If I had a camera, I would have filmed it in slow motion, it would have made a great video, all these suits walking with purpose as they toured the store, followed by the entire management team of our store. What an image that was!
