Well. This is different. I have just entered a new phase in my life. I am now officially alone. I've always joked with my kids that when I finally reached this point in my life, it would be nice to have the house to myself so I can run around naked! *laughs* I am finally there!
Yesterday was the big day. I helped my son move out. He's starting a new phase in his own life, living with his girlfriend, and expecting his first child. (So yes, that means I'm going to be a grandma again!) It will mean new things, new challenges -- the road won't be easy for either of them. And I will worry. But its time for a new phase.
Its 5am, Saturday morning, and I am sitting on the patio, enjoying a really nice morning, watching the sun rise, soft pink and lavender light bouncing off the few clouds in the sky. Its my favorite time of day. Sadie is investigating her yard, as if something might have changed in the last few hours since she was outside the last time... hahaha dogs can be so funny.
Later today, I'm going to drive Sadie down to my daughter's house where she will stay for a week while I take a much needed vacation from the real world and visit my parents. It'll be good to get away for a short time. At the same time, my daughter has made an appointment at a tattoo parlor where I am finally going to get my Phoenix. I got my first tat of a dragonfly when I turned 50. Now I'm getting my second tat because I lost 50 lbs. Makes me wonder what my third tat will symbolize. *grins*
