Maximalist Walls

I like stuff on my walls. And while I like a bit of order, I always mix it with hodgepodge. It wasn't a word I knew until recently. But I like it. Maximalism.

A few months back, I was packing up knickknacks and items that look cluttered.  But I don't mind it on my walls.

Yeah. I'm a little weird.

Today on this little bit of wall I went to town and hung a few odds and ends. And got another empty box!

There's an old skateboard key hanging there, and a few keys with interesting shapes. I hung two little pill boxes on ribbons, added a gold ribbon to hang a hand mirror, and pins for the tiny porcelain mirror, and two old fav photos -- my daughter and granddaughter. The frames covered with flowers were a dollar store find 20+ years ago.

There were seven more frames in the box, so I'll be debating what to do with these next!

In another box, I found an open weave turquoise scarf with a note from mom's sister Christmas 1960.  My mother was the kind who saved things for a special occasion.  I'm guessing this has been in a box since 1960. In the same box, two hairnets from the 1950s. Not sure what to do with those. Not quite in my wheelhouse!!

The scarf I draped over a large picture frame where I have a different set of maximalist photos displayed.

I needed to do a little fun today - its been cloudy and rainy at times. I saw my doc today, he's making another med change. *sigh*  we shall see.
