There was a time a while back when I thought, hoped, assumed, that eventually some day I wouldn't have to make treks to family outings, gatherings, events, or celebrations alone. But year after year has passed, and I'm finally at a place of acceptance, where I know that this is how it is, how its going to be. Once you lose that hope, the image fades, and you no longer can imagine it. But life continues. We go on.
I found a new Willie Nelson song today, called "Don't Fade Away". Wish I could find a youtube of the song, but here's a snippet of the lyrics:
