Hopes
that lasted years
became possibilities
when you said
you loved me too

Dreams
that said someday
became shattered
when you told me
the truth

Reality
that's like a brick
weighs me down
and I can't let go
of us

Time
like a dark cave
looms ahead
stretching forever
quiet and alone again
