I don't know how it works for you, but there are facets of life that continue to astound me. I've spoke often about synchronicity and the timing of events. Someone used the phrase "a door closes, a window opens" in a conversation .... and I got to wondering. Cliches and sayings are usually based on some point of truth. This phrase could also be linked to "things happen for a reason".
When a door closes, sometimes we don't understand why. Or we get mired down in the 'door closing' event, feeling hurt, wanting to hide, that it can be difficult to see anything else. When a big change comes along, and you feel like that door slammed in your face, how we react to that will have a big impact on what's coming our way next. If we get too bogged down in our thinking, or our feelings, we might miss that new window of opportunity.
When it comes to relationships, if you're the one hurt by someone, its natural to want to hide for a while, and if you're like me, examine the why's and what happened's. We all need to take a little bit of time for doing that, its how we learn, grow and cope. But always keep your eye to the window that may open.
I don't consider myself very good at relationships. I've struggled in the past, and have yet to understand the reasons for the way things have happened. But I struggle on and do my best. When the truths finally emerged recently in a relationship, I was devastated. It's been a struggle to do new things, go new places, make changes in my routine, in my life. And frankly, so easy to slip back into old habits and routines. (Thanks Mr. OR for all your help with that!)
But windows seem to be cracking open again. The high five from Trainer Sean at 24Hour, a little friendly bantering at work. And now, out of the blue, an email from someone who likes some posted pictures and the comments I'd written. I didn't put much into it ... I truly enjoy getting comments and emails from readers .. and I replied, answering the questions asked. Imagine my surprise when I received several more emails and queries (Thanks Mr. Jim!)
Is this a window opening?
It sure makes me wonder ............. and smile.
