The earring story reminded me of a trip to Santa Cruz with a boyfriend. It was May, a week day so most people were at work. With no crowds, it was nice to feel sonewhat alone. On a beach. The sun shining, you could feel the love in the air! Ok, that sounds cheesy but we were a young couple, feeling the love.
We shopped through some of the stores that were open, always fun to look at things you don't often see other places. We each selected a few things, paid for them, and strolled our way down onto the sand, closer to the water.
We watched the waves, then he turned me to face him. He dug his hand into his pocket, took my left hand on his, and slid a ring on my finger. My heart pounded, and I thought "what the heck is he doing?"
He looked into my eyes with a smile and said "With this spring, I thee wed." *blink* what did he just say?
He laughed, and lifted my finger to see he'd placed a spring that was made into a ring on my finger!
We chuckled for many months over our own little joke about the spring ring!!
